Choose by subject as well as location
Bunk’Art 1 and Bunk’Art 2 are separate museums. The first covers subjects including the army and everyday life under the communist regime. The second focuses on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Sigurimi political police. That distinction is more useful than deciding which bunker is better known.

Combine one museum with a different kind of afternoon
With one full city day, Bunk’Art 2 is easier to include in a central walking itinerary. Leave room for a break afterwards. Visiting two political-history museums consecutively is not a requirement for understanding Tirana.
Choose Bunk’Art 1 when you want to give the outing a larger part of the day. Avoid a lunch reservation immediately after your predicted finish. Travel, waiting and how much of the exhibition you read all affect when you return.
Getting to the correct entrance
Bunk’Art 1’s visitor page names the Qendër–Porcelan bus and a departure near the clock tower. Confirm the stop locally and ask about the approach to the entrance. Save the address: requesting a taxi to “Bunk’Art” alone leaves room for confusion.
For Bunk’Art 2, use its own address on Rruga Abdi Toptani. Do not assume the two locations form one visit or leave the destination ambiguous when arranging a driver. If booking a tour, check which museum is included.

Tickets, access and time inside
Check the museum’s current information for opening, last entry and tickets. An older summer notice can remain online alongside the visitor page; if they conflict, ask the museum which applies to your date. We do not turn one seasonal announcement into a permanent opening-hours promise.
Leave a generous museum slot in your own schedule and more time if you like reading the displays. That is planning advice, not an official visit duration. Ask in advance about steps, confined spaces or any specific access needs. With children, consider the exhibition’s subject before choosing it; an underground setting does not by itself make a suitable family activity.
